He happened to be visiting the home of Ray Allen, a former NBA star player, with Allen’s son when he was introduced to Biles. She was there visiting Allen’s daughter.
“We ended up hanging out right before the pandemic,” Biles told Today. “It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything. So we used it to get to know each other — get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now I’m so thankful.”
Whirlwind Romance Leads to Engagement
After that initial meeting, Biles and Owens began talking consistently, despite restrictions due to the pandemic. Their relationship quickly blossomed into love.
“I didn’t know who she was,” Owens admitted. “I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.”
Just over a year later, in February 2022, Owens proposed to Biles at her favorite place – her home. The two wed in March 2023.
“I knew he was the one,” Biles said. “He’s very funny, very playful. We play a lot together.”
