Taylor Swift’s loyal fanbase, known as “Swifties”, proved their dedication once again by crashing the AMC app when tickets went on sale for her new concert film. The high demand overwhelmed the ticketing system, leaving many unable to purchase tickets initially.
Massive Interest Overloads AMC’s System Crash
After Swift announced that her Eras Tour concert was being adapted into a film, fans flocked to the AMC app to secure tickets. However, the immense interest was too much for the system to handle. AMC shared that online reservations were temporarily unavailable due to the incredibly high volume of users trying to buy tickets all at once.
Anyone still hoping to get tickets was advised to visit their local AMC Theatre in person. AMC acknowledged that no ticketing system has ever been able to accommodate the surge in demand when Taylor Swift tickets first go on sale. The company said they were committed to addressing any delays or outages quickly.
Showtimes, Pricing and Availability
According to an official release, every AMC Theatre in the US will show the Taylor Swift concert film at least 4 times daily on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Special ticket pricing was announced, with tickets costing $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors (excluding premium large format screens).
The film will be shown in AMC theatres across the US, Canada and Mexico. Tickets are now available online via AMC’s website and mobile app. Swift herself shared a trailer for the film on social media, expressing her excitement for fans to experience the tour on the big screen.

Unlike traditional movie releases, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be shown for multiple weeks from October 13th onward. AMC locations will have four showtimes each day from Thursdays through Sundays when the film opens.

In addition to the wide availability, tickets will be offered at lower prices. The adult ticket price is $19.89, markedly lower than the typical $24.99 for an AMC adult ticket.
